Very Important Information on scheduling and changes

Hello football family.  We have some exciting news and updates for this season.

We are in the final stages of forming the Kennebec Valley Youth Football League (KVFL) for grades 3-6.  The league has always been comprised of Messalonskee, Waterville, Winslow, China, and Augusta.  It is not finalized, but it appears that Skowhegan, Madison, and Athens will also be joining the league.  We will update you later this week when we have more news.

At the last meeting of the KVFL, the KVFL board/coaches voted to play grade 3-6 games on SATURDAY’S.  The plan is to have 2 games at 3 different sites.  Games would be at 9am and 10:30am with all games concluding by Noon.  Schedules should be out  in the next couple weeks.

Due to this change in scheduling, we have moved Flag and Grade 1-2 games to Sunday at the Middle School from Noon-1pm due to field availability.  This also avoids potential conflicts parents with children in both K-2 and 3-6 levels would have.  We think this time on Sunday is optimal as families will be able to attend church in the morning and still be done football in time to watch NFL games.

This will mean that equipment handout for Grades 1-2 will be moved as well.  NEW EQUIPMENT DATE is Sunday September 7th at our equipment shed (6 Oak Street) Grade 2 at 12pm and Grade 1 at 1pm.  Practices will begin on the week of September 8th.  Coaches will contact parents will their practice times.
